Robert Rogers

Robert Dale Rogers has been an herbalist for over forty years, and is a professional member of the American Herbalist Guild. He earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta, where he is presently an assistant clinical professor in Family Medicine.

He teaches plant medicine, including plant and mushroom medicine, aromatherapy and flower essences in the Earth Spirit Medicine faculty at the Northern Star College in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Robert is past chair of the Alberta Natural Health Agricultural Network and Community Health Council of Capital Health. He is a Fellow of the International College of Nutrition, past-chair of the medicinal mushroom committee of the North American Mycological Association and on the editorial boards of the International Journal of Medicinal Mushrooms, Fungi magazine and Discovery Phytomedicine.
He is the author of over 40 books on medicinal plants and fungi of the boreal forest, including The Fungal Pharmacy: The Complete Guide to Medicinal Mushrooms and Lichens of North America.

A Cree Healer and his Medicine Bundle, was released in June 2015 by North Atlantic Books. It documents the ten generation passing down of over sixty traditional plants and fungi and their medicinal use.

Mushroom Essences: Vibrational Healing from the Kingdom Fungi was released in July 2016. This book contains 48 mushroom essences prepared under lunar influence for working with soul connection and depth psychology. It includes one or more case study, from clinical practice, associated with using these wonders of the underworld.

Jeff & Juli Gillies

Jeff & Juli are passionate about exploring new sustainable ideas and sharing them with the world.  Jeff’s background in soil science and construction, combined with Juli’s marketing and family skills, make J2 a dynamic duo for building and showing off their permaculture demonstration farm near Rocky Mountain House, AB.

Their farm, Rancho Relaxo Resort, demonstrates a new way of living where health, happiness, and sustainability are the goals, and abundance is on the horizon.


Chad Cornell

Chad Cornell operates The Hollow Reed Holistic Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where he practices and teaches herbalism and meditation. He is a co-founder of the Our Common Roots project ( and recently released an online herbal medicine program with Robert Rogers ( He is currently involved in orchestrating the Summer Ethnobotany Field Course through the Indigenous Studies Department at the University of Winnipeg as well as creating an Earth Camp for kids in Manitoba’s Boreal region. Chad’s passion is assisting the integration of timeless planetary wisdom into our fast changing world.

Kalyn Kodiak

Kalyn is a Clinical Herbalist and Iridologist, teaching others how to live harmoniously with their bodies and the world around them. Her passion is relieving the torment of mental health, auto-immune and chronic illnesses that are so prevalent today. Using an approach to healing that is scientific, holistic and all-natural, Kalyn employs healing methods such as iridology, tongue and pulse diagnosis, energetic guidance and hands-on therapies to bring peace and health to her clients.



Malcolm Saunders

Malcolm is an Intuitive Chef who specializes in the Alchemy of Superfoods and Superherbs. He has an expertise and passion for creating, and teaching others how to make, many special energizing and healing creations, including raw chocolate, elixirs and fermented foods. Malcolm’s purpose and mission is to raise the individual & collective consciousness about food and nutrition, this is accomplished and carried out through the Light Cellar, a unique specialty super food boutique, raw chocolaterie, and teaching kitchen which he owns and operates and is located in Bowness, Calgary.

Eric Whitehead

Eric Whitehead, a.k.a mushroom guy, is one of the faces associated with wild food in Canada. Having grown up in a remote part of BC’s interior, (groceries were 3 hours away), he developed an insatiable curiosity and a practical knowledge of what’s wildly available to us as food and medicine. He is a certified herbalist and spent over a decade in forestry. Eric is co-owner of Untamed Feast, a company dedicated to re-introducing the everyday consumer to delicious wild food. Chantal Stormsong Chagnon

Chantal Chagnon hails from Muskeg Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan. She sings and drums traditional and contemporary Aboriginal songs, and has been performing publicly since 2009 in Calgary. Chantal is a single mom, teacher, professional singer, actress and performer, special event coordinator, activist, social justice advocate and community organizer. She hosts regular workshops teaching traditional Aboriginal crafts, sharing culture and knowledge. She is passionate about building Aboriginal cultural awareness and bridges of understanding, and is honoured and humbled to share her gifts of song, tradition and culture.


Terry Willard

Terry Willard, Cl.H., Ph.D. is recognized as one of North America’s leading Clinical Herbalists. He was the past President of the Alberta Association of Herbal Practitioners, and past President of the Canadian Council of Herbalist Associations and is a professional member of the American Herbalist Guild. He has been elected to several terms on the Federal Government’s NHP-PAC board to consult on product licensing by the government.

For over forty years he has been an active practitioner and teacher, director of the Wild Rose College of Natural Healing, is in the Canadian Health Food Association’s Hall of Fame and is the author of twelve books.
Terry is semi-retired living on an organic acreage on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada.

Suzanne Catty

Suzanne grew up immersed in herbal medicine and natural health care. She is a complete purist when it comes to ingredients saying, “If you wouldn’t put it in your mouth don’t put it on your body”. Her original company Acqua Vita was the first 100% organic aromatherapy company in Canada and provided 125 essential oils and 64 hydrosols plus an extensive product line. She has been in full-time clinical practice since 1995, supporting her clients in all aspects of wholistic health and personalised care.

Catty is the author of Hydrosols: The Next Aromatherapy; Hot Tea: Cooking with Camellia sinensis and co-author of Aux Petits Maux; Les Nouveau Remedes; as well as dozens of articles on complimentary medicine in aromatherapy and health publications around the world.

Her groundbreaking work with aromatic plant waters, known as hydrosols, created a new form of plant medicine and, turned an unused by-product into a global commodity now found in thousands of products. She is recognized for ensuring her work always gives back to local communities and individual producers of raw materials, at source. Every year, Suzanne provides pro bono consultations for NGO’s and non-profits around the world on sustainable production of plant extracts and natural product development.

Suzanne’s extensive knowledge and unique style have made her a popular speaker, writer and educator in the media and in person in Europe, Austral-Asia and throughout North America. She’s also very good with animals.

Jeananne Laing

Jeananne Laing is a Master and Clinical Herbalist and Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach based in Calgary. Jeananne is co-founder of Lodgepole School, President of the Alberta Herbalists Association and an Alberta representative for the Canadian Council of Herbalists Association. Jeananne’s interest in Cannabis as medicine began many years ago when she discovered that taking a small amount of marijuana prior to a public speaking project in high school took away debilitating anxiety and allowed her to actually enjoy the task, rather than being paralyzed with fear. With the recent change in Canadian laws, Jeananne has been able to turn her herbal attention to teaching about the healing benefits of cannabis. Jeananne spends a good portion of her time as a Cannabis Educator at Harvest Medicine in Calgary.

Indigo Souljer


Indigo is the Founder and CEO of Souljers of Light. His grand vision sees Souljers of Light creating a movement around the world, spreading light, love and illuminating consciousness. He believes that united we can make real change in the world by coming together and raising the vibrations of the planet.

He has studied to become a psychic medium, crystal Angel Healer, Meditation Circle Leader, Tarot Reader and Zen Councilior through Zen Master Nissim Amon’s Trilotherapy program. Indi has utilized these skills and knowledge to help others, and guide them along their own spiritual path.

Denis Manzer

Denis Manzer has been on a quest to help bring the healing powers of positive nutrition to the people! With many years of experience working in the health food industry Denis has found many secrets to nourishment! One of the most important aspects is to empower people with the skills and know-how to be able to live in harmony w/ the land as our ancestors did!

You can find Denis at The Light Cellar Superfoods in Bowness, helping to provide many medicinal herbs and foods & instructing various workshops! Otherwise you might find him in the forest!

Brenda Holder

Brenda (Cree/Iroquois Métis) was born and raised in the Rockies in Jasper National Park and is pleased to follow her lineage as a traditional Métis guide from the Kwarakwante of Jasper. Learning through research and talking with elders, traditions, which are a part of her heritage, have become a pleasure for her to share with others.

Brenda has spent the last 12 years in tourism and has served on Aboriginal Tourism Advisory Boards for the Minister of Tourism Parks and Recreation in 2008 as well as for Travel Alberta in 2006. In addition, Brenda has been engaged in Aboriginal Tourism since 1998 and was an active member of Niitsitappi (before being taken over by Travel Alberta).

Jeremy Zoller

Jeremy is a Permaculture Teacher and the owner at Sunshine Earth Works, a Calgary company that offers permaculture design and landscape reconstruction services. He offers courses in permaculture and creating edible landscapes in your own backyard.




Cheyenne Caza

Cheyenne Caza is a certified Practical Herbalist, a certified Reflexologist, and the owner of Wisewood Apothecary. She is a born and raised Calgarian, spending much of her time building forts, eating wild greens and running around the beautiful landscapes of Calgary and surrounding areas. After having a couple of kids and furthering her education, focusing mainly on herbal medicine, Cheyenne’s love for local plant life flourished. She studied through the Wild Rose College of Natural Healing as well as the Lodgepole School of Wholistic Studies and looks forward to many more years of learning.


Victoria Nestorowicz

Victoria was welcomed into the wonderful world of herbs and wildcrafting at Wild Rose College, she graduated with her practical herbalist diploma in 2011. Combined with her diploma’s in Musical Theatre, as a Yoga teacher, birth doula, permaculture designer and her experience working in children’s theatre/ television and as a Mother she has become very passionate about helping raise and support conscious, nature-inspired human beings. She has been running a day home for over 4 years and is currently completing the Alberta childcare assistant course. Children can expect lots of free play, crafting with natural materials, yoga, dance, singing with the uke and discovering the beauty of nature in the KidZone.
